Bedroom & Closet
Start with the one-year rule: if you haven't worn it in a year, donate it. Bag up clothing, shoes, and accessories. Raba Thrift buys clothing at $0.50/lb or picks up donations for free. Old bedding and pillows should be discarded (thrift stores can't accept them).
Living Room
Small furniture like side tables, shelving, and lamps are great donation items. DVDs, video games, and vinyl records are accepted at Raba Thrift. Note: sofas and large furniture cannot be donated to most thrift stores.
Kitchen
Dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and small appliances (if working) are in high demand at thrift stores. Donate what you don't use. Schedule a free pickup so you don't have to haul boxes yourself.
Garage & Storage
Tools, sporting goods, books, and vintage items are all accepted. Electronics like audio equipment and gaming consoles are welcome if they work. Hazardous materials (paint, chemicals, batteries) need to go to the Chilliwack Eco Depot.
Kids' Rooms
Children outgrow clothing fast. Donate kids' clothes, shoes, books, and toys. Raba Thrift accepts all sizes. Save 90% by shopping thrift for the next size up.
